"not quite techno..."

submission: ./'Vallum'\.
date: November 16, 2006

It seems to me you're making the same mistake as I made back then... you say it's techno, when it's in truth industrial. Especially because of the guitar. And, as someone said in one of the reviews for a song of mine, "it also lacks a fast-ass techno lead". Whatever, I ain't judging what genre you uploaded your song to :)
The drums were a bit weird at first, but I got used to it, the synth wasn't really my taste, but I guess it's okay. The guitar and the bass was great tho.
Maybe you should try sticking to one software to make music in. Like stick with FL or something, it'd be much easier to use, and I'm sure you could make better music that way!
Keep it up,
Darth Pejka

Author's Response:

Thanks for dropping a review! :D

I wasn't really sure what genre to put it in, so I stuck it in techno.

I don't like the synth either after repeated listens, I'm kinda regretting using the slide tool :3

I might stick with FL Studio, but I get really annoyed if I start working on a song and it closes on me... so I decided to be safe I'd just record the loops and compose the stuff in noteworthy :D

Thanks again for the review :)

"sounds cool"

Yeah, this is something that'd perfectly fit my mood sometimes :P
Loved the low bass, the drums, the breakdowns, and... well, pretty much everything ^_^
Keep up the good work,

Evil Within

"not bad at all"

submission: Evil Within

But using drumloops as a base for a song, at least in it's original form, is a huge minus. It's all in the originality score.
Otherwise, the bass towards the end was just ownage. IMHO it was a bit short, but that's just me. And you have about a minute of silence at the end. You can't do anything about it now though.
The other thing I liked was the industrial-ish synth you used.
So keep it up,
Darth Pejka

Author's Response:

Heh, thanks.

I can't make my own beats for nothin, so it's really kind of a bonus :P.

I don't know HOW the minute of silence got in though, its only supposed to last 1 or 2 seconds >_<.

I liked the synth too, sorta went well with everything.

Thanks for the review :).

now that was cool - no problems with it except for the length. if this wasn't just a loop, I'd definitely put it on my mp3. but, if you make it longer, add some more diversity to the bassline, 'cause it would become really annoying if it played constantly for, say, 3 minutes.
oh, and this definitely is d&b in my book :)
keep it up,

well what could I say? it was just... beautiful. and now I'm sad. the kind of music I'd listen to if someone close to me died or just left me...
I really can't say anything bad about this song - and I'm positive noone could. they could, actually, but that'd mean they're just senseless morons.
keep up the fantastic work,

I thought I'd review a song of yours in return :)
True what you said, I dig your stuff, I listened to a few others as well, this is sick, in a good way, I like this type of harsh electronic sound.
I'm looking forward to more from you,
Darth Pejka

Author's Response:

nice 1, it made me puke my guts up the first time i heard this in it's completion.

"not bad"

But I voted less for originality, since I could clearly make out most instruments you used, you used FL I'm pretty sure. Try to add some FX or tweak the instruments to make them sound more original.
The delay on the kick was imho a bit strong, otherwise it sounded okay.
And don't be afraid to use automation, it can really tweak up a song ;)
Keep it up,
Darth Pejka

Well, i try as best as I can... Thx anyway :P

This was really good, I quite enjoyed listening to it, though I'm not into dancing, my friend who does like to would surely dance to this one :)
I liked how you didn't overplay parts, and kept introducing new parts.
Looking forward to the final version,
Darth Pejka

The Infinite Void

"pretty good"

submission: The Infinite Void
date: January 11, 2006

not much else I could say, it had the general feeling of industrial to it, though the guitar was imho too quiet, otherwise it was okay.
I listened to a few other of your songs, Black Spark Sea and Muppet Pastor to name two, they were good as well.
keep it up! (if you'll ever post music again, that is)
